similar to cowboy prob with gina...
i have this prob with a pulsar2 card with the max latency in asio drivers: clicks, stops, and when i try to move the windows up or down everything is unusable. i use the last drivers from creamware. also if i create projects with plus of 5 or 6 audio tracks with effects, sometime i hear clicks and the redraw of tthe tracks is in jerks... with normal wave drivers...
when i use fruityloops or other progs everything is fine.

what we can do? we love acid but....
conf:
mobo gigabyte 8ie with intel 845e chipset
p4 2ghz
768mb ram ddr
100 gb hd (2x)
ati radeon 7500 doublemoni
pulsar2 with version 3.1c r2
win xp pro

i think this is not a slow system...
waiting for updates?
thanks

I have a very similar set up and don't have this problem, although I haven't really pushed AP4 much yet (waiting for 4.0a). AsusP4B266 P4 1.8 512Mb DDR SDRAM, Pulsar-II with SFP 3.1a. I'm on 5ms latency, with no pops, but only gone to five or six audio tracks so far. Did it happen on the earlier SFP 3.1a ? You're on the test cut of 3.1c . . . maybe that's got something to do with it (unlikely though).

What latency are you on in AP4?
And you're running Fruity on ASIO with no probs....hmmm.
When you first tried AP4 what latency did it put you on ? Mine just went to 5ms. What latency do you have set within Pulsar ?
Did you say it works perfectly on the wav drivers ?

well...
latest release of sfp is better than others. for me everything is much stable than before. the drivers for xp are ,(obviously...), still in beta. i work with ULLI at 7ms@44100. in ap4 i use the default settings when i work with wave drivers. note that is not possible to work with 24bit wave drivers. still work in progress...
fruity 3.56 work good with asio@44100. have you probs?
sometime i use 10 or 12 audio tracks with effects... with vegas video everything works fine. with acid no. the asio prob is a big prob because i can't use vsti instruments and dls synth with wave drivers big latency...
cubase sx works fine also in xtc mode. works fine in all modes... fruity can't do this for software compatibility, but without xtc works good.
i wait for 4.0a... maybe.
try to work with acid in xtc and tell me something...
bye

I tried with 12 very full audio tracks (including all simultaneous) and perfect playback. Fruity 3.56 is also completely smooth. In AcidPro3 I regularly get up to 30 - 40 tracks with quite a few long one-shots (wav drivers obviously) and have never had a single stutter or pop. I'm also on ULLI 7ms@44

But I notice you said "XTC mode". I never touch XTC mode - I've always assumed it's too bug-ridden to even consider. Is that what you're using and having the problems with? You can get almost exactly the same XTC-style effect in AcidPro4 by just sequencing the Pulsar instruments with MIDI, soloing the track, then recording the output direct to a new track. You might find that a lot easier - plus there won't be any extra latency on Pulsar FX if you come straight out.

I'd give XTC a try but since I never use it, I don't even know how to start it up with Acid (I did install it with SFP 3.1a though...)

How do you work with Acid in XTC mode? I feel the manual is a bit thin regarding how you setup XTC.
It says you must start the application from the live bar. How do you do that?
Am I missing something obvious here?

for use in xtc mode symply close the startup project of sfp. configure the host prog to use asio scope as audio out and xtc is automatically loaded.
however my probs with acid4 are not with xtc mode in particular. are with normally asio out.
i don't know...

Thanks, that made it possible to configure the XTC settings, but I still cannot load pulsar synths as VSTi's. Shouldn't that work when using XTC?
