One of my audio gurus wants me to install a Leyla sound card to feed the Mackie 1604 mixer, while the other says the onboard audio the Supermicro P4DCE+ has is plenty good enough. Anybody feel strongly enough about this to share their thoughts?
On-board soundcards rarely sound decent. No doubt the Layla will sound vastly better. You might also want to look into the MidiMan "Audiophile 2496" sounds great and can be had for around $179 or less. Here is a review:
