Subject:true or false Posted by: oddboy Date:8/23/2002 1:07:29 PM because of the time streching that goes on in Acid. Is it inpossible to get indutry quality mixes out of Acid. I have friend who says " you cant do pro stuff in acid-to many artifacts in the audio" Are the main uses of acid just to create techno loops and export to full blown apps like cubase or logic Also, I have duplicated this crash several times. Select in chopper>audition>crash. this is with the windows stock soundcard and the hybrid acid file.
Subject:RE: true or false Reply by: ATP Date:8/23/2002 1:46:24 PM i bet your friend is the kinda guy who uses ACID for the first time, opens a 60 bpm loop and sets the project tempo at 130, then thought 'sux' and never touched ACID again. you know how that professional, slick quality of the songs is done? it's all in the post production. mastering, mixing, applying effects, stereo enhancements etc. you could make a tracker module sound fat if you master it properly. in other words, this is really not dependant on the kind of application you use, but the quality of the samples you have to begin with. now, i'm not saying ACID is the be all end all of professional music production. but it's definitely a valuable tool if you're style of music contains loops. most audio software specializes in certain things. ACID specializes in loop based production, and at the risk of sounding like a fanboy i have not come accross any app that does this better.

And it sounds good when mixed down too. I think when SoFo fixes the bugs in acid and fruity can play perfectly in it it will be the best combo for doing any sorta electronic music. Jay
