What's the difference between the dl and box versions of Acid 4.0, other than $100? Is the $99 dl version the full program or only an upgrade for existing Acid users? I have SF6 and Vegas Video 3, but not Acid. Can I actually get Acid 4 for $99 under the current promotion? Thanks. Dave Burns Lowell, MA |

Hello, The Download and Boxed are the same versions, It's just that you would have to wait for the Boxed version, it's not ready yet. Yes you can get the $99.00 promo if you get it before September 30th, and it is the full version as well not an upgrade. See ya, Rockitglider [EDIT] I think I might have made a mistake in my post, But from what was going on in here the first couple of days when Acid first came out was people were getting the full program for $99.00 even if they didn't have Pro version, But I've seen this mistake happen before with Vegas, then the price changed a couple of days after the release, and it became $149.00 or $179.00 to get the program. When I go to the upgrade page now the prices are different. So I guess you have to be an existing Acid owner to get the $99.00 deal. Sorry, Rockitglider |

Hmmm, I'm registered for both VV3 and SF6 but have seen no e-mail. Is this code specific to individuals or something that could be shared, depending, I would expect, on me entereing my registration codes at some point. - Jason |

I'm a registered user and I even filled out the popup that SF had on their site that announces when the software becomes available (I own SF6, VV3 and AP3). I'm bummed... I haven't seen any emails yet. Anyone care to share the discount code? |

I got the email indicating $99 and the code on 8/19/02, but it only says for upgrade all over the email. Is it only an upgrade for Acid owners or a full version for $99 for people like the others and myself who own SF and VV? Gary G |

I spoke with SoFo customer service today about a similar issue. The difference between the download and boxed are that with the "boxed", you get the CD and some kind of freebie; perhaps the classic 8-pack CD. (which according to the rep, “may” be available for download down the road). You also get a printed and bound "quick start" guide. There is no box per se, only what I just mentioned. To actually have a box, you have to buy the retail package. As far as if the one is an upgrade and other an entire version, I don't know. I do know that Acid XPress and Acid Pro are exactly the same. You just have to enter your registration code in XPress to convert it into Pro. |

VisualSee, I notice that your email address is a hotmail account. Hotmail has some spam filtering software, and they have a history of being a little overzealous. You might want to look in your "Junk Mail" folder and see if you see any email from us there. |

Sonic DHC, Can you be a little more direct on an answer to the question some of us keep asking? MAny of us want to know if $99 it is "on;y an update price to Acid owners"??? As I mentioned, the email I got says update all over it. Can you just say yes or no as to whether the $99 applies to any SoFo app owner to get the full version of Acid 4 for $99. No one from soFo seems to want to answer this directly. Why? Gary G |

Thanks, I guess that means that for the extra $100 you get $150 worth of software, a savings of $50 assuming that you need the software in the first place. John |
