Trying to repair a recorded damaged LP track by taking a similar piece and copy-paste it in. But crossfade leaves distinctly two melodies audible for a while. Is there a way to shorten fade-in/out? Need only enough to avoid a glitch. Or can I solve the problem otherwise? I know that there are some real specialists on this forum, please advise me. |

If you make a selection, the fade will be that length. For example, if you want a fade out to be two seconds long, then select the last two seconds before going into the "Fade" dialog box. Ted |

Did you try drawing the waveform (if its a very short glitch) or copy from just one channel if vocals are on the other one? Lyle |

Sorry, I misread your original post. With crossfades, it is a little different. If you are dragging your file onto the other file, you will see where the files are going to overlap. At that point, while holding the left mouse button, click on the right mouse button to cycle through the different types of mixes. If you're copying to the clipboard, copy the data, and then go to Edit/Paste Special/Crossfade to paste it in. Ted |
