Can anyone reccomend a good sound card

After play with Acid a bit I have these .sfk files on my desktop. Does this mean that when I render something acid also reates .sfk files? And does it mean I dont have my directory set right for saving files?

thanks

The .sfk files are "peak" files. They are created by our apps so that everytime a media file is opened, it dosn't have to re-read the file to rebuild the peaks of the audio data. They are created wherever the original audio file you are using is. Are they being created on your desktop and there are no audio files on your desktop?

As for a sound card, it all depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend.

Yes, there are acompanying sound files on the desktop. I guess this means I should have a project folder for each project and within that folder I should create a folder called "audio files"? and then the sfk files will live in the folder with the audio files?

If I designate a session folder on a secondary drive will Acid remember the file paths?

As far as the soundcard goes I would want to spend as much as it takes to get the "better or best.

no matter where you put your samples, if you load them in a song in ACID and save the song, it will remember the location of the wave files used in the song.
