Subject:Better Question is: Where's Maruuk?

After all the BS nitpicking, arguing, "Rewire this and Rewire that" and "SF is selling all their furniture cause the stock is tanking", and being the most vocal of the Acid 4.0 preemptive strike team, I would hope that he might have a review of some sort to share with us. Has there been a purchase from the man himself?

Hey, nobody will give me broadband, I'm screwed! So I'm mulling a 6-hour download which'll probably get interrupted in the last 11 seconds or doing it through a bud's rig.

Everybody should get this thing, me too! Sometimes you have to throw money at a problem, and 4.0 without ReWire is a problem. A strong support of 4.0 will help get us all where we need to go with this one-of-a-kind product. And insure SOFO and this forum are here tomorrow.

I'm not concerned about the negative feedback on VSTi and some other stuff yet. It looks like a typical Billy-put-the-batteries-in-the-fire-truck-backwards panic, I think the response will even out over the next few hours.

Anyway, every release is a form of beta, who are we kidding? Bugs are to swat--that's what they make the alphabet for.

I have a dial-up connection (I live in Holland), and I got the program downloaded perfectly in 1 hour 50 minutes. So I don't know how slow dial-ups in the US are, but 6-hours seems way too long for me. Talking about bugs: of the 4 times I've ran it today, it crashed twice (both on Steinberg's Model-E). That's a 50%-score, not bad

hermanakos--What modem baud rate are you running there? Yep, crashing is definitely on the 4.0 to-do list--nothing abnormal about that. We may have to get to "e" or "f" before it's robust. Welcome to the QC patrol.

I run 46.6 Kbps, the average downloadspeed last night was 4.5KBs. The best thing however is that subscription is free, you just pay the phonebill.
I'm keeping a log of all my crashes. Any ideas where I can email that to?

no, but I started a thread that hopefully we can use for exactly this purpose. "The Bug List(ATTN: SOFO)"...

You need a program like GetRight which will resume interrupted downloads.

oh i will definitely wait until Maruuk himself has given his opinion on the latest release of ACID. i'm sure all the developers are also anxiously awaiting his judgment, and they must be gnawing their fingers, wondering whether they'll continue on ACID at all if Maruuk deems it unworthy.

actually i'm happy most of the sensible people have already posted their experiences with ACID 4, as it will undoubtly make up for the pile of BS that i'll probably won't be able to avoid reading when Maruuk's download is finally done.

eh Maruuk, don't get all worked up now, k? i'm sure you have lots of things to say, and some of them i may actually even agree with. cheers.
