Problem...After I save, tracks show but no sound -ACID Product Family

I usually create my loops in fruity loops and save those loops as .wav files. Then, I go into acid and open those files and edit them, everything is fine until I save the project and open it in acid again. Everything is there, except, I cant hear anything. I've read the manual and I haven't found anything...Any ideas?? Thanks.

I use the sounds in loop mode, and I was still able to see the waveform...that's what was so confusing to me. But it looks like everything is working now, thanks for the help.

Subject:RE: Problem...After I save, tracks show but no sound Reply by: Iacobus Date:8/16/2002 11:13:12 PM Hold on tight. :) Before I begin, know that an event is an instance of where a sample actually plays; it's either drawn or painted in. So: -A Loop type track is simply that, a track that can loop endlessly from end to end. It can stretch from key to key and from tempo to tempo. It uses your installed RAM. I should note you can specify if a sample will be opened as a loop or not by going to Options>Preferences on the menu bar and then the Audio tab. Set the Open files as loops if between (seconds) option. Anything between the two values will be opened as a Loop type track. The default is between half a second to 30 seconds. Believe it can be set from 0 seconds to about 300 seconds (5 minutes). Anything before the first value will be opened as a One-shot; anything after will be opened as a Beatmapped track. Caution: Be careful with this. Since Loops load into RAM, you can easily bring down ACID and/or your system. A typical 3 minute WAV, for example, can eat as much as 60 MB of RAM. -A One-shot type track is a sample that was designed to play just once in any given event. You can play it over and over but you have to set the grid resolution on the timeline and use the Paint Tool to paint the One-shot. For longer One-shots, you can hold down CTRL on your keyboard while you paint with the Paint Tool; this will paint an entire instance of the One-shot in...err...one shot. (Works with Loops and Beatmapped tracks as well.) Most One-shots are of the percussive variety, but some are also snippets of other audio as well. One-shots can be used in a variety of ways, including but not limited too creating and sequencing your own percussive tracks instead of using canned drum loops. One-shots, by default, play from RAM only if they are about 3 seconds or less. Any more than that and they play from your hard disk instead. -A Beatmapped (or Disk-Based) type track is...well...disk-based; it plays back from the hard disk. These are usually longer than any other type of track, like a solo or a whole song. A Beatmapped track also contains tempo information that you specify. You can also specify if you want the pitch of the Beatmapped track to remain the same when it's stretched to another tempo or specify a root note for transposition. (Believe you may do this in ACID Pro or ACID Music only but I'm not sure.) HTH, Iacobus
