I downloaded it last night... but since I haven't really hit too many snags in 6.0a, I was lingering on installing it. |

Here are the fixes in 6.0b: -A problem that caused Sound Forge to crash if you changed focus from the Stereo to Mono dialog to the Properties dialog while converting a stereo file to a mono file has been fixed. -When you are saving a compressed format file, the Save As dialog now defaults to using the existing file type in the Save as type drop-down list. -Duplicate regions are now saved correctly. -A problem with resampling a file using the anti-alias filter that caused Sound Forge to insert a period of silence at the beginning of the file has been fixed. -A problem with cursor position inconsistency during playback of .raw files has been fixed. -Sound Forge's ability to recover files after an application or system crash has been improved. -A problem with large selections failing to display in the Show wave graph has been fixed. -A problem that prevented markers and regions from moving appropriately with the audio data when you applied a pitch shift or time stretch command has been fixed. -A new preference has been added to the General Preferences tab. When the Control key prevents window from docking check box is selected, you can hold the Ctrl key while dragging a window to prevent it from docking. When this check box is cleared, windows will not dock unless you hold the Ctrl key. Ted |

Ted. I have installed 6.b but am unable to find the feature below under preferences. Am I blind? "A new preference has been added to the General Preferences tab. When the Control key prevents window from docking check box is selected, you can hold the Ctrl key while dragging a window to prevent it from docking. When this check box is cleared, windows will not dock unless you hold the Ctrl key." |

It should be the last checkbox on the general tab. Same pref behavior as 6.0a, just a clarification on the name. |

Yes, I updated to V.6.0b last night - no problems apart from one weird thing that went away on its own. The first time I started up SF after the upgrade I found that it wouldn't play/stop with the spacebar, though clicking on the transport buttons was working fine. But after I closed it down and started it up again the spacebar was working again and has been OK ever since. Don't know how or why it happened but it shows no signs of doing it again so I don't think it's anything to worry about. Otherwise it's perfect (though I hadn't actually noticed any of the problems that it fixes - V.6.0a had been working fine for me). Mark |

MarkWWWW: interesting you should mention that. The first time i started it up the Enter key was doing what the spacebar was supposed to do, and the spacebar wasn't doing anything at all. But starting with the second time i launched it everything is back to normal. |

I download your new soundforge 6 Demo build 185 from your website, but when I install it and when I would like to test it by launching the exe file, I have a problem on my computer... I had a crash on w2k and I need to restart my computer after. where does the problem come from? I have the following equipment on my computer: a ATI video Card RADEON 7500 but no Hauppauge TV card and a hoontech dsp24 & rack addac2000. I used an XP1900 with 256Mo Ram on an ASUS A7V333-R... thanks for helping me... |

Right click on your desktop and choose Properties. Click Settings-->Advanced-->Troubleshoot. Turn the slider down a notch or two and see if that takes care of the problem. Thanks, Brian |

I agree - but I downloaded the patch, ported it over to my audio computer, and tried to install it. It couldn't find 6.0a, even though it was there and working fine. Any ideas? |

You may need to have the 6.0a installation files if they are not on your audio PC, and possibly in the same folder as the new 6.0b patch install files. The graphic fader view was a welcomed fix. Thanks, S.F. |
