You'll have to connect your keyboard's MIDI I/O ports to your soundcard. What kind of soundcard do you have? If it's a Soundblaster card, you can pick up a MIDI adapter cable at most reputable music stores. Stores like CompUSA could have them as well. Be sure that MIDI Out on the keyboard connects to the MIDI In connector on the cable and vice versa. HTH, Iacobus |

Is this actually a MIDI keyboard? You'll need that for starters. Look on the back of your keyboard where all the cables connect. You're looking for three ports that say MIDI in, MIDI out, and MIDI thru. If your keyboard doesn't have these, then you'll need another keyboard. Next, you'll need either a MIDI cable that connects to the serial port of your sound card or MUCH BETTER YET, some type of USB interface. With the USB, you'll still need a couple of MIDI cables, but the MIDI signal goes via USB instead of serial. USB = good. Serial = bad. Both work though. Get those things going and you should be set. There should be standard MIDI In and MIDI Out ports on the keyboard as Steve stated. As standard Soundblaster cards don't have standard MIDI In and MIDI Out ports, a special adapter cable is used to connect to the port on the soundcard that is commonly used for the joystick. (15 pin? I can't remember exactly.) So the adapter part of the cable doesn't actually hook to your keyboard but to the Soundblaster instead. However, if you've a pro-quality card like the M-Audio Audiophile 2496, you'd simply use two standard 5-pin MIDI cables to connect to the two MIDI In and MIDI Out connectors on the Audiophile's breakout cable.
