Is it possible using Sound Forge or any other media program out there to take an AC-3 Dolby Digital 5.1 music file and convert it to an MP3 or other similar media format? Thanks for any help anyone can give on this matter. |

Hi, YES, go look in the IN for HeadAC3 and/or BeSweet (both Freeware, GPL). Based on a common GPL AC3 decoding engine the software does a very high quality 2.0 downsample incl. creation of Dolby Surround information for analog multichannel surround decoder. Mostly used in the DVD copy/backup scene in combination with MPEG4 Video Encoder. mike |
