Subject:Record from record deck

I am trying to record from my turntable and have connected up to to my computer via the output audio lead from my record deck amplifier. This is plugged into my input of my onboard sound on my motherboard (Chaintech). I can monitor the sound OK as I can here my LP playing through my PC but when selecting record in Sound Forge 6.0, although the bars are bouncing up and down there is no evidence of recording on the graph. I can play the sample pca files and they output fine.

I run Windows XP Pro and have checked sounds in Control Panel and all seems to be OK. I also have Hauppauge card that I record TV programs with and that works fine. I had to remove the audio link lead from my Hauppauge card that goes into to the audio input of my onboard sound. It seems like the incoming signal is not getting to the Sound Forge program properly. Have I missed something?

I believe you need to double click on the speaker icon in the systray then click on options then properties. Click recording and choose input source and levels there.
