Subject:Did SoFo piss in Maruuk's Wheaties?

Ok, now I gotta respond: Maruuk, why so negative and bitter and down on SoFo? I'm tired of reading your crappy messages. SoFo don't owe you shit, dude! If it was up to me, I'd bar your ass from this forum and definitely do everything in my power to make sure you didn't get another piece of SoFo gear. You sittin' on the shareholder board or something? You don't like what they got to offer? Easy: don't use it...don't buy it and definitely don't talk about it! It's pretty simple, actually and if you weren't running from post to post with your whining and negative rap you might be able to get some work/music done, yeah? The world has gotten along fine for A LONG TIME without fecking Rewire and guess what: it still will.

Have you been using ACID long, hmmm? Can't imagine since you had no REWIRE, ya big baby. Do you even know the program and what it's capable of? I don't have any expectations of what a company is coming with...I check out what they have and if I can use it, cool..if not, that's cool too...I'm on to the next. I can't stand Cakewalk products but I own every version since Pro Audio 7. Why? Cuz' I bought Pro 7 on a salesman's word and hated it but I get the upgrades because I think "maybe, just maybe"(my bad). But I damn sure ain't wasting time being a cock on the Cakewalk message boards about how Cakewalk ain't "fufilling my needs...*sob*...". Fecking grow up and get off the pity pot. Either find a new company to whine about or learn to code and build your own Rewire-d app and then we can all use that(or tear you a daily asshole cuz "we don't like it...wahhhh"). I'm sure the forum readers will be a lot happier if you just piss off. And I mean that in nicest possible way, of course...:|

And if you got a response (or some feckless attempt at rationalization, plz bring it...)

(sigh) Here we go again... this isn't the first time that someone has raised this objection. But, ladies and gentlemen... what's the big deal? All I'm hearing is 'if you don't like it, then don't buy it.' Fair enough. But, at the same time, I think that some of his issues (including, and especially, ReWire support, which I was lucky enough to find via Reason) and concerns are most valid. The Foundry needs to hear people (regardless of whether or not you wish to), to hear their concerns & wants... and you want to throw Maruuk out because he carries the loudest megaphone? Please. He's doing you a favor. He's saying things that maybe someone else wouldn't. He creates genuine discussion about features and products. He and I haven't always seen eye to eye (very rarely, in fact), but at least someone is TRYING to think up better solutions, and not necessarily be content with what's handed to them.

I personally think that, should you not care to see what he has to say, then ignore his threads, his postings, whatever. And more power to you. What you'll be missing, however, will be your loss. And if you're not open to opinion and discussion... then I can't imagine where you'll be missed.

David.

Ah, the old Acid-as-Jesus hatemail, the old Scientology attack dog strategy. Jeez, guys, this act is getting real tired. Why don't you just hire a hit man--it's the only way you can stop the Truth from getting into these pages.

I notice you can't get any traction by addressing the facts, you lose there everytime, so you just launch the tired old ad hominem assaults like the forum bullies you are. Gee, I'm real scared.

Face it, SoFo dropped the ball here. They're pitching peanuts to the monkeys when they should be embracing accepted professional standards across the board like all their competitors. Who cares if guy X or Y wouldn't use ReWire? They may never use the audio or midi either. What does that prove?

With ReWire, Acid wouldn't have to get complicated. It could stay just as warm and fuzzy as it is, let another app handle audio, synths, samplers, drum modules. Then they all render together, bada bing! Yet you see that as a BAD thing? A USELESS thing? For you, perhaps. Playing with loops is probably tests the limits of your abilities. But us pros require integration and interconnectivity.

There's no question the lack of ReWire hurts Acid. And the SoFo bottom line. All you have to do is count the dozens of users here on this forum who have been clamoring for ReWire as a necessary tool in their sonic arsenal. The fact that SoFo blew them off shows a lack of commitment to customers that borders on the foolhardy. It's a very tough. cold world out there for a looping product that can't talk to anybody.

Have a nice day and...lighten up guys! This is just another flawed product, not a religion!

If I sound negative, it's because SoFo has given the user NO way to hook up to any other app, including their own. That eliminates a huge number of creative possibilities. Even a simple in-house ReWire clone would allow us to link directly to the multitrack and video capabilities of SoFo's own family of products.

A lot of guys don't need more than Acid, and a lot of guys do. SoFo has arbitrarily created a product quandary for the latter group if they want to co-render with Reason or any of the other killer apps that compliment Acid so well.

Acid may be a great looper, but it's blind, deaf and dumb to other apps. And that's a major product liability in a super tough field full of ReWired apps.

You guys need to get out more, this is just another disappointing rev of a software app, not the second coming.

maruuk I totally agree with you. If you look at my posts you will see that I have a loud voice as well. Be loud as you want, its what you say that matters. And honestly, you make the Idea of having rewire sound BAD because YOURE saying it!!!

Be nice about what you say. Suggest things. Dont threaten. it really sounds dumb.

at the same time, people that have a problem with maruuk, his ideas are good, and Rewire would be a good thing for sonic founry to have. SoFo will not die out just because reiwre is not in Acid 4. I havent heard of many people at all that really want rewire, maybe 3. And thats not just in this forum, but at my own forum I have, and the KvR forum, and at the private Fruityloops forums (many people here have reason as well, so thats why it would be of interest.) Im sure Sonic foundry will soon find away to make all there appz more integrated. I will admit, I will only give them one more release number to let me do better multitrakcing in Acid, but Im not being a dickhead like maruuk is being.

So just ignore him, he may have a mental problem.

I think these quotes form him say it all:

Have a nice day and...lighten up guys! This is just another flawed product, not a religion!

.....oh really? with the way youre going all fanatic about this I forgot.....

Why don't you just hire a hit man--it's the only way you can stop the Truth from getting into these pages.

yeah I think Joe macarthy is probably in on this one, you better watch out man!

----- wow

when this would have said it all:

Even a simple in-house ReWire clone would allow us to link directly to the multitrack and video capabilities of SoFo's own family of products

.....without sounding stupid.

Instead of listening to his insluting and rambling posts, find an excellent description of REWIRE and why it will be essential to ACID (and VEGAS, if there are no plans to increase the multitrack capability of ACID) HERE: (thx groovewerx)

Ok, everybody's vented, the instigators of the hate posts have been clearly identified, let's move on. Let's argue and discuss product, not personality. Agreed?

I apologize to Maruuk and everyone else here on this usually cool forum. I didn't realize I was late to the party and everyone had ripped him a new one over at the "Acid Pro 4.0 features" forum. No more dead horse beating, no more attacks and PLEASE no more Nazi comments...most uncool. 'Kay?

Peace, love and understanding...what's so funny bout it?

There ought to be enough banter about the upcoming beta to keep us all busy for a while...
