Ok please pardon my newbie-ness, but is there a way in Acid to select a few seconds of a composition across all tracks, delete the section, and have the two adjacent sides join up, similar to what happens when I delete a chunk of text from the middle of a sentence? I can select a bunch of events across all tracks, but when I delete it I get this empty section of dead air in the middle of my composition. I know I'm must be missing something here, but I can't seem to find a simply way to do this... Thanks in advance... |

I've been using Acid for a time now and i still didn't find a simple way to do that (except deleting and moving each part manualy) that's something i would like to see in Acid 4 (and Asio drivers among lots of other things). So I don't think you're missing something but i hope i'm wrong... |

Under Options, select Ripple Edits (a checkmark will appear next to it). ACID should then behave the way you want it to. |

Ripple edits ... I was wondering what that was. Not a terrifically intuitive name, is it... Thanks - I'll try it! -WS |

I didn't know what it meant at first either. But i'm the kind of person who tends to look up every menu option and control in the Help screens when i'm first playing around with a piece of software. It takes some time, but it saves enormous amounts of time later. |
