george--All signs point to an October release. The Sept Spot tour is touting it as an "upcoming product". It will be a significant upgrade, but what new standards and features they decide to adopt are totally up in the air at this point.

Have you signed up for the tour? I know nothing about these people. But then again, I just joined the forums today.

The way I see it, if I have to pay somebody $500 to figure out how to use some new software rev, the product designers have failed miserably.

Good point! But being in the IT profession I've run across my share of un-documented features in a lot of software’s.

hello everybody !
I recently got a answer from the company regarding acid 4.0, saying that it would be available soon as a beta version. however, no details about when and what's new in it was mentioned, so keep your pants on :-)

I thought it wasn't going to Beta to the general public.

With the upgrade page already in the works, you sure wouldn't think so. Was 3.0 beta to the public?

I don't know... I can't believe that we're waiting for Oct.
Check out PID=708. Ignore the pic and the description, and look at the page title & the banner pic that isn't there...

They're moving forward, and moving forward VERY quickly on this...

David.

Today (Fri) is the real first news wave out of NAMM--SoFo would be nuts to not use the assembled press to at least announce the upcoming rev and toss out a few features. Free publicity is no mere trifle, and music software is traditionally announced months before release.

Maruuk, you're wrong about the October release. We will tell you more when we can.

Well, I must defer to David's diligence in pointing out the 4.0 manual page and the original 4.0 upgade page being prepared for, seemingly, impending release. Plus, the Sept. tutorial tour would be pretty meaningless if you didn't have a copy of 4.0 on your computer to try out what you learned. Add in SoFo has the world music press all assembled in Nashville ready to trumpet any release announcements at no cost to SoFo--it would be crazy to blow that promo op.

So we have a credible scenario for an announcement at NAMM later today of a 4.0 release...early Aug. Actual, practical shipping--late Aug. Just in time for the tour. Can you feel the tingle Acid fans?

(drooling...)

Please SF! I realize that there may not be a rock solid roll out date yet, but throw us a bone here! Maybe just tell us what quarter we can expect it in...
I mean, yeah, I'd LOVE to hear all about the new features, but I realize that your hands are tied. I'll take what I can get...

David.

Hear hear. All I need now is a multitrack studio to compliment FLP plugged into it. I hope it's a SoFo product that I go with, as I like them best (be it ACID or Vegas).

Here's hoping,

Asylus
