Subject:Unknown PCM Error

When I start up SF 5, I get the splash window and a little box that says Rundll in my taskbar. When I close this, it and the splash window disappear and the SF window comes up. Then, I get a crash recovery window, and I tell it to delete the TMP files. I can open files just fine, but if I hit the record button, I get an "Unknown PCM Error" and I can't record. I can get around this hitting "New" in the file section. But the audio I get when I record is full of pops and clicks. Does any of this make sense? I did install build 259, so I am updated. However, if I need to reinstall SF 5, how many times can I do that? I know I installed it once, and then the first time I had this problem, I un/reinstalled SF again. I think I have only reinstalled once, but I don't honestly know if I did it twice. And I read in another thread here that once should uninstall AND clear the registry . . . where is the registry? Thanks . . . |
