One of the things that helped me the most when i first started was to look at what others had done with it. Go to http://www.acidplanet.com/loops/8packs and download this week's "8Pack". There's a new one posted most every friday. It contains the .acd project file as well as all the loops that were used, and some notes from the person who created it. After playing around with a few of these i had a much better understanding of how ACID worked and what could be done with it.

My suggestion is buying the Acid Power book available at the Sonic Foundry web site (or any other large retail book store). You'll get detailed info there as well as screen shots. I've been using Acid fro the last 6 months and still go back to the book.

When you open Acid go to: File, Get media from the web. You'll be able to download media there aside from the free loops from Acid Planet.

http://www.peaceloveproductions.com posts free loops every month. I'm not sure who's involved with this but I know Jason Donnelly (ex-Sonic Foundry guy) is. Their downloads are having problems and won't be fixed until August 3.

I know I sound like a marketing person :), but I thought it was neat that Mick Fleetwood site offered a bonus loops. Start at LFA and follow the links http://www.sonicfoundry.com/loop_libraries/ShowLoop.asp?PID=702.

ACID Power's a good choice. Also has anyone looked at ACID in 24 Hours?
