I have Acid Pro v3 and am trying to sync it up to Cubasis using Virtual Midi Router and Midi Clock. I beleive I have followed the correct procedure: (1)Options/Preferences/Midi/sonic foundry midi router (2)Options/Preferences/Sync/Output device=sonic foundry midi router (3)Options/Timecode/Generate midi timeclock (4)In Cubasis: Options/Synchronization/Receive midi clock=input VMR). However, when I press play in Acid I keep getting an error message saying that Virtual Midi Router is being used by a different application. I don't understand why it is telling me this as I have made sure that Cubasis is only receiving midi clock (not sending it). I would really appreciate anyone who can help me as I'm running out of hair to pull out. Thanks Mike. |

Certainly sounds like you did the procedure right. Did you try contacting Sonic Foundry themselves? HTH, Iacobus |

Yeah, still waiting to hear from them. I think I must have pressed an option by mistake with all my attempts - but I can't tell which one!!! |

I also have tried to sync two applications using the virtual router. No luck with that. My solution was to download MIDIYoke from www.midiox.com. HTH. Lars |

I have just tried this and had a nightmare. For some reason after installing MidiYoke my Cubasis wouldn't work (some sort of fatal error) I then tried de/reinstalling Cubasis with the same result and then deinstalled MididYoke where by my Cubasis worked. Thanks anyway for the idea but I think I'll try and get an answer from SF unless anyone else has any bright ideas???? Cheers, Mike. |

Well, sorry you still have problems. I'm using Windows XP, I don't know if that helps? If you are running Win98SE or WinME, you could try Hubi's MIDI Loopback (http://www.cs.ruu.nl/pub/MIDI/PROGRAMS/MSWINDOWS/mdlbk251.zip). The programs I sync is Acid Pro 3 and ProTools LE 5.3.1. Lars |

This is a known bug with Cubase. It grabs the virtual MIDI router ports for both input and output and there by prevent ACID from using the output port, and hence the busy port msg. There is no workaround. Peter |

A certain word comes to mind - beginning with B and ending in OLLOCKS. |

Does Cakewalk also do the same thing? I haven't been able to get Pro Audio 8 to sync with Acid Pro 3.0g either. I get the same error message as DJMic. |

Is this also a problem when trying to sync ACID with Cakewalk? I get the "busy" signal too, or worse, a total shutdown of Cakewalk that won't restart without a complete reboot. 'snout |

I don't know about any of this, but does this help the Cakewalk question? http://www.sonicfoundry.com/support/supportproduct.asp?familyid=2&family=acid&topicid=41&detailid=117 |
