How does Main concept look on HDTV?

I've read that mpegs encoded to DVD don't look too good on HDTV. Is this true. I don't have HDTV yet to see for myself

I have worked with DV footage shot on a Panasonic MX3000 3CCD camera filmed in 16:9 mode. Ran through VV3 Mainconcepts to mpegs, then through DVDit and burned with Nero 5. These images were played through a Pioneer DVD player to a VSX49tx receiver out to a Pioneer 610 HDTV using component inputs. I was very pleased with the results for home video use. Looks as good as many movies over a Dish system. Of course it is not the same as a Hollywood DVD production. Depends on your expectations.
