Anybody know of a decent phase meter program that can be used for checking .wav files? It would be nice to be able to play a .wav file from the HD and have a phase program display the results in real time. BTW - I have one already, but it only works on the soundcard INPUTS. Thanks. JL OTR |

Try setting your soundcard's recording input to the "What you hear", "Mixed Output", or "PC Speaker" selection. That will cause the soundcard to use it's output as the input. |

The Ultra Funk Sonitus plugins, has a "Phase" plugin which along with letting you adjust the phase also has a phase meter incorporated into it. I haven't used it much to give any further details of how well it works. Maybe Sonic Foundry could update it's metering section and incorporate a phase meter and a VU meter someday? Wavelab already has both of these features. |

Ahh, yes...Wavelab. I forgot about that one. I have the demo so I can check it out. I also downloaded the Ultrafunk demo so I'll give it a shot too. Anybody else know of any others...? >>Maybe Sonic Foundry could update it's metering section and incorporate a phase meter and a VU meter someday?<< Yep, it's needed. Maybe not in Sound Forge, but Vegas for sure. JL OTR |

Sonic Timeworks has an 8 band parametric equalizer which also contains a phase meter (it is in the graphic mode screen, top to the right)... |
