I've been trying to install the demo of Sound Forge 6 and I get the message that tells me I need DirectX 8 to install Sound Forge 6. NT 4 does not support DirectX 8. Is there anyway around this or has Sonic Foundry simply ignored an entire market of NT 4 users? |

Change my OS????? That's like getting a piece of furniture that won't fit through the door of your house and someone saying "Well yer gonna haveta get a new house". I've already contacted Microsoft and the only version of DirectX that NT supports is 3. It just baffles me. I mean just because Gate's is ignoring an entire market of PC users by not supporting older Windows versions does not mean third party developers should be shunning them as well. I refuse to be forced to upgrade to yet another piece of garbage OS from Microsoft. My Linux system has had the same Linux version running on it for over 4 years (with absolutely no crashes by the way) without having to upgrade. And even if I DID have to upgrade it wouldn't cost near as much as a Windows upgrade (although it would be much more worth it). Sound Forge 5 runs fine on NT so why not 6????? |
