I have just bought this tdk 32xs velocd burner....cd architect can recognize it in the select drive tab, but when I hit the red record button it shuts down the whole program. Im using Windows ME....Does anybody have any ideas to fix this or know of any 32xs writers that def. work with this program??? Let me know---Steve

Hmmm... I don't know what is happening on your machine causing CDA to close down inadvertantly. I have never seen that in my travels. However, CDA hasn't been updated in close to 2 years while your burner is very new. Even though the program 'detects' you burner, it doesn't mean that it can use it. CDA works well on CD-R drives that are MMC3 compliant, which the TDK drive is 1/2 and 1/2.

I am using a SCSI Yamaha drive (16x), but I heard that the 32x and even the 40x model (either IDE or SCSI) seem to work just fine with CDA. The only problem is that you cannot change the recording speed. It burns at MAX. (This may or may not be good, depending on your application.)

HTH!

Hey,

I have been using CD arch on my studio pc but I decided to try it out on my other pc due to the fact that my microboards won't last forever. It works fine with the TDK 40/12/48B. I am using win98 and the settings I used were
ATAPIMMC
then select
0.ESDI 506
then select
0.(s) TDK CDR401240B Z7SB

Of course this is win98 but I am sure it will work just as well on win2000. If your having problems with Me maybe you should upgrade to WIN2000Pro. I admit I was let down by SF decisions but I am happy atelast it works with the TDK drives.
Good luck
