I just purchased a new computer, and it has a Soundblaster live soundcard. I've inputed my source and it's coming through the PC speakers, but soundforge won't even recognize it at all. This is not a problem on my old PC. Any suggestions? |

You probably don't have the soundcard's mixer set to record from that input. Double-click the little yellow speaker icon in the lower right corner of the screen. Choose Options, Properties, click Recording, OK. You will now be looking at the recording section of the mixer instead of the playback section. Choose the appropriate input there and you should be all set. |

Thanks for the input. It works just fine. I almost feel foolish for not seeing such a simple thing. I have just one more question. Do you know where I could find an online instruction manual for soundforge 6.0? I appreciate your help. |

Don't feel too bad about it. When my brother first gave me a copy of SoundForge 4.5XP for Christmas many years ago, i couldn't figure out how to record with it for months. Somehow it just never occured to me to try clicking on Options in the mixer panel. Oops. ;) Manuals for most of Sonic Foundry's media products in PDF format: http://www.sonicfoundry.com/download/step1.asp?CatID=12 |
