Whenever I click on my "Time Selection Tool" it selects the looped region, whatever that may be. Somehow I've enabled the "Time Select Loop Region" command which can be found by right clicking in the loop bar, the thing with the yellow corners, but I can't figure out how to disable it. Under normal circumstances when the "Time Selection Tool" is clicked the pointer would display a bi-directional arrow (right?). I just can't figure out a way to turn the "Time Select Loop Region" command off so that my "Time Selection Tool" works normally. I'm sure this is something very simple but it's driving me crazy. I have right clicked the loop bar and tried with both the "Time Select At Loop Region" command highlighted and unhighlighted. Makes no difference. I've opened a new file but my "Time Selection Tool" is still selecting the looped region and not giving me the bi-directional arrow so I can select a region, other than the looped region, that I want to work on. Any ideas? Thanks. |

The bar with the yellow handles is known as the Loop Bar. It's usually used to create a Loop Region. It's also used in conjunction with the Time Selection Tool. I believe this was always the way the Time Selection Tool worked. If you're trying to simply select an area within the project, try clicking where there are no events and drag. Adjust as necessary by hovering over the edges of the selection. Use CTRL+SHIFT+A to unselect everything except what's in the Time Selection. HTH, Iacobus |
