Hmmmmmmmm. Interesting challange indeed. Some things to consider - small enclosed space, so there will be short echo and reverb, but it will be "dead" sounding - car interiors tend to absorb lots of high frequencies - probably most of the coloration you hear is actually vehicle noise rather than modified source sound Add some short reverb, possibly try "metal tank" effect, but at a very gentle setting. Boost bass EQ slightly, cut high EQ sharply. Add some low frequency noise, maybe even some slight wind sounds. Experiment. Have fun. |

I use sound fx CD's. Most high quality sound effects libraries have almost every ambience recorded, including the interior of a Car/taxi and exterior, you just need to add the voice then. Goto SOUNDIDEAS.COM, or HOLLYWOODEDGE.COM for a large selection of sound fx's. If you want a reverb type of effect of a taxi, well that's a pretty small absorbant space...which is pretty close to DRY, with exterior sounds leaking in. Or if you want a true reverb, then stretch a mic cable into the car parked in the driveway and record your voice over in there. You won't be able to tell the difference between a CAR interior and a TAXI interior. |

The URL for the CD of sounds is actually sound-ideas.com. Gotta have the hyphen. Without the hyphen, you go to the website of a software maker, who apparently gets a lot of misdirected traffic, judging from a note on their page that shows the URL of the place that actually does do sound-effects CD's! |

Haven't gotten into it enough yet to tell you how to do it, but this sounds to me like a job for Acoustic Mirror... JL OTR |
