OK - I have found a MAJOR BUG!!! Would someone PLEASE try to duplicate this: In both the SF6.0a demo (still trying to decide) AND the Batch Conv. 5.0b, I have been trying to use a plug-in chainer package that I created in VV3. The package consists of: SF Paragraphic EQ, SF Track Compressor, PSP Vintage Warmer and SF Dither (in that order). (If you don't have the PSP VW, download the demo at www.PSPAudioWare.com - BEWARE!!! If you try it, you will WANT it!) This chain works flawlessly in VV3. However, in both SF6.0a and BC5.0b, the signal is getting overprocessed somehow. If I add in the plugs to the chainer one at a time, everything is fine until I add in the PSP VW. Even when I BYPASS the plug, just having it in the chain is adding about 6dB to the signal. When the plug is turned ON, even more signal level is added - causing an inordinate amount of clipping (regardless of the max output level set on the plug). If I remove the PSP VW from the chain, everything goes back to normal. A preview or processed file from BC yields similar results: If the VW is BYPASSED, all works fine - just as if the VW were not there. If the VW is ON, there is a gain of about 6dB added ABOVE that which is added by using this exact same chain from within VV3 or Acid Pro 3.0. Point is: by simply having PSP VW in the chain, both SF6.0 AND BC5.0 ADD about 6dB to the signal level - whether you want it to or NOT!! I might suspect that there is a problem with the PSP VW plug, except that it works FLAWLESSLY in VV3a AND also in Acid Pro 3.0g. Can anyone else get the same results??? Please try..... I have already forwarded this to Tech Support, but would like to see if anyone else finds the same problem. Thanks. Jeff Lowes On-Track Recording |

One more time..... I know several of you guys have found numerous bugs 6.0's chainer. If any of you have the PSP Vintage Warmer, run a check on it and see what happens. My results are posted above - they aren't pretty... If you don'e have the VW, you can download the demo at www.PSPAudioWare.com. (You will probably want it after you test it...) Thanks. JL OTR |

Yep...same thing, and it works nicely in 5.0. BTW, this is a nice plugin. The kind of thing that would see alot of use as an alternative to the multiband plug. It's alot like T Racks. |
