something I'd like to do that i'm sure has been asked many times before. a background hiss in an audio stream. i've been able to remove the hiss in places where there are no other sounds mixed in with effects > distortion. i've also tried selecting a small section of just the hiss, inverting it and mix pasting it to the entire stream. but of course the peaks and trouphs don't line up exactly so that didn't quite work either. does anyone know a good method to accomplish this? |

Hi. If you do much of this type of work I suggest you obtain the Noise Reduction plug in. With it, you select a sample of the hiss where there is no program material. Noise reduction then uses this sample to cancel like material throughout the file. Without noise reduction I can only suggest you do a frequency analysis of the hiss and use a notch filter to reduce the response at this frequency. |
