Whenever I save a file in SF6, it insists on saving it as SP0000.wav even if I type in a file name. VERY ANNOYING. Help anyone???

Thanks

Try this: Open the SF-6 "Record" window, (Ctrl-R) Right-click on any blank grey area in that window and select: "Automaic Labeling". This will open the "Automatic Labeling" preference dialog window that has many settings, including turning it off. Un-check the "New window title prefix."

Choose the Microsoft WAV save as type, not the Scott Studios WAV. There are 2 different WAV formats. The Scott Studios one always saves in the format SP0000.wav. The Microsoft one lets you save with any file name.

If you have no idea what Scott Studios is and don't want to, you can just delete the 'sctplug' subdirectory from the 'FileIO Plug-Ins' directory in the Sound Forge installation folder and it won't show up in the list anymore.
