I NEED HELP RECORDING!!!!!!!!! (not same as below) -ACID Product Family

(not same as below) Posted by: trippleoto Date:6/27/2002 7:10:28 PM i gotta problem. i'm a recording artist and i need to get two songs done by 8:00 tonight. if i don't send them to my producers by 8:30 i'm gonna lose a lot of money. here's the problem: i plug my mic into the mic outlet and turn the mic on. when the record screen comes up (and when trying to record) i can hear my self when i speak into the mic through the speakers, but i guess the computer doesn't pick it up. again I CAN HEAR MYSELF but the green lines don't jump like they did. i've recorded a couple days ago (i'm using Acid Pro 3.0) and many times bfore and it's worked then. i've also tried changing the mic's, cables, and adapters and none of those have worked. PLEASE HELP, TIME IS TICKING!!!!!!! p.s. i've also tried using a couple other recording programs to try to see if it works. they too didn't pick up the sound.

You probably have the Recording settings of the sound card mixer wrong. Double click on the little yellow speaker icon in the lower right corner of the screen. Choose Options, Properties, Recording, OK. You will now be looking at the input mixer instead of the "listening" mixer. Choose the mic input there and all should be well.
