Subject:Error 0x8000402

Today I reinstalled my OS. Now when I try to open any of my acid projects i get this error message. An error occurred while loading the project file. Error 0x8000402. Is there any way I can get these files to open. Or are they gone. I have them backed up on a CDR but there are recent changes i've made that weren't backed up.

That seems to be a catch-all error code. According to the info-base, it would appear that the particular acid file is corrupt BUT, as I mentioned, this error comes up for several different problems.

Make sure you reboot first - this often times solves many problems.
Reinstall any of your Direct X drivers - up to date ones are best.
Do a quick scan for any wav files that are 0kb and delte them.

If those 'fixes' don't work, come back and we'll do some more thinkin.
