Subject:Batch Converter 5.0b not cooperating

When I use BC 5.0b to process .wav files, what I get is NOT what I expect. I am using the exact same plug-in package as I had set up in VV3 - however, the result is about 7 dB hotter and is clipped like crazy. It almost sounds as if the file got double-processed. Anyone else have any experience with BC not processing like you told it to? Thanks. Jeff Lowes On-Track Recording |

This is a MAJOR BUG with BATCH CONVERTER 5.0b. I recently batch converted 12 files using only SF dc offset removal in the script. The end result was WAY off from processing each file separately. Glad I tested it and compared outputs first. This has to be corrected. DO NOT USE BATCH CONVERTER 5.0b. IT CAN'T BE TRUSTED. |

This problem is not confined to BC alone.... I have found a MAJOR problem with the plug-in chainer in SF6.0. (See the thread "* * * * * MAJOR BUG FOUND * * * * * ".) I have made Tech Support aware of the problem, but I bet it wouldn't hurt to slam them with a few more e-mails. JL OTR |

Has anyone got news on the fix for the Batch Converter 5.0b chaining problems? We ran a whole set of files through a little light processing and the end result was TRASH. This sounds like what was described in the "Major Bug" thread back in June, but there's nothing about it in the knowledge base. some simple processing that works fine in Sound Forge 6.0, but when you try to do the same thing one a list of files in batch conveter you get a messed up file. We have before and after files, of course. darius |

The problem I've run into is with converting .avi to .rm -- it always seizes on me. However, I've batched an entire folder of .wav to WMA & RM with no problem (of course, they were done on the 56k template, so any subtle flares wouldn't be detected). It's too bad -- BC 5 sets up and works like a champ. |
