I ripped an audio track but I wish to edit only the music but not the voice. Is it possible to separe the voice and the music into 2 separates wav files???

Not really. You can download AnalogX's Vocal Remover but the results are pretty bad.

I'm sure that if you call the record company, they will gladly send you the multitracks for you to play with!

Did you ask for permission from the backstreet boys before you started to edit their music? Ajay won't be too happy when he hears of this. It'll probably throw him onto another drinking binge

Actually, someone at Sonic Foundry leaked to the press last week that they are working on a vocal remover for version 14 of Sound Forge.
Now, considering that the lifespan of a version is between 12 to 36 months, and we're now only at version 6, I would suggest what you do is... Sit in front of your computer, make sure you're at the Sonic Foundry homepage, and keep hitting the "refresh" button. SF always gives advance notice for the next version. This way, you're sure not to miss it.* ;)

Granted, every site dealing with electronic music composition is plagued with this question, but what do you expect when most software packaging leads you to believe that you can "remix you favorite songs". That's what I thought when I first bought Acid. I'm glad I figured it out on my own because you people are ruthless :).

"you people are ruthless"

Hey now, didn't you see the smiley face at the end of my post?!?
There's only so many different ways you can say "no". Look at it as a kind of initiation.
