I got SF just when V5.0 came out, thinking this was an ideal time. However, I've heard a lot about the CDA authoring plug that isn't supported in V5 or V6. Can someone tell me about this? The really sticky part is, how the heck can you get 4.5 as previous versions of the software are not available for download. If this thing is so good, does anybody know why Sonic Foundry left it out or if they have plans to re-include it? Sorry for the multipart question. |

CDA has functionally reappeared, more or less, as a feature in Vegas Video 3. Vegas' audio editing style is similar to CDA. So those who need CDA-like features in a current program (with current drive support) have the Vegas option. I've used both for a while now. Vegas works fine for CDs but I still prefer CDA's simplicity and focus on task. If you acquire CDA somewhere, the CD includes a version of Sound Forge XP which will allow you to run it. Then you can download the most recent updates from the web site. Keep in mind there is limited support for newer CDR drives. Many work but some do not. |
