In sound Forge when you create a loop, you also need to "edit acid properties" or else it will goto the default settings setup under the options menu. You need to assign the loop it's "original" tempo (ie the one you hear in Sound Forge), also the number of beats, and the original key signature, or "don't transpose" if it's a drum loop.

The problem you are having is this. Let's say under the properties of the loop, you have it set to 120 BPM, now you open that loop up in ACID and the master tempo is 100 BPM. Well that loop will now play back slower. If you want it to playback at the same tempo you heard it in sound forge, then the master tempo in acid has to match the tempo under the properties. So in other words the master tempo in acid would have to be 120 BPM in this example. If you don't want acid to change the tempo then you can change the properties of the loop to "One-shot", located under the "track properties" tab or have it set at the same tempo as I described.

So the answer to your question of "Why does it change tempo?" is Acid is doing exactly what you are telling it to do. Take my loop which was originally at 120BPM and play it back at 100 BPM.
