Subject:sf 6.0a crash/file recovery Posted by: jaypea Date:6/13/2002 11:19:11 PM working on an hour long audio file. got to the end and BOOM--crash city. a few seconds later, the error box came up to tell me it crashed, then sf6 shut itself down upon clicking ok. restarted sf6. crash recovery box comes up saying I can recover the file. clicked recover. another error box comes up to say the file doesn't exist. clicked ok. now sf6 won't even try to recover the file. what gives? is it there or not? if it is, how can I get the file back? hellllllllllpppppppp!

Fortunately, I wasn't working on a project and was just probing around for bugs and testing the program out. I found that one among others and deemed the program unworthy of doing any real session work until the bugs get fixed.

I hunted around for the temp file (sf6 sends them to the "local settings/temp" folder under the user dierctory in win2k--otherwise they go to "sonic foundry/sound forge 6.0" for 98 I think). when I finally found it, the file ("frg6cut.tmp" IIRC) was 0 bytes. so, sf, any ideas when this will be fixed?
