Forge XP 5.0f update - won't activate Open File dialog box -Sound Forge - PC

Subject:Forge XP 5.0f update - won't activate Open File dialog box Posted by: CAPNDigital Date:6/11/2002 2:02:20 PM After updating Sound Forge XP Studio 5.0e to the 5.0f update the Open File dialog box will not appear. I have tried using the Icon on the toolbar as well as the Open... option under the file menu. I am able to open files into SF XP through Vegas Video 3.0b and all other features of XP 5.0 seem to work fine - including New File, Save, Save As.., Extract Audio From CD , I just cant open XP separately and then open a file within the program... Please help - I am running WinME and I reinstalled the XP 5.0 from my Acid Pro 3.0 disc no problems, when I installed the 5.0f update - the Open feature was again not working... 5.0e worked fine prior to this... I bought the full version last year and have been using it with Sonar. I didn't have to open files with the open command so I didn't realize anything was wrong. I tried removing and reinstalling every version that I have downloaded since the original and the only one where the open dialog works is that first version. It appears the problem has been resolved, however, I have not heard any official feedback from them on the topic yet. I don't want to create a bigger problem for you, so I would rather that they suggest a solution. You may want to email tech support JDodge@sonicfoundry.com. Question: Do you have Vegas Video 3.0 (notably 3.0b) installed on your system? If so, let Tech Support know this as well - it seems that it may have something to do with this "glitch" (and possible solution)

I discovered that I have the same problem with SF 5.0f. I bought the full version last year and have been using it with Sonar. I didn't have to open files with the open command so I didn't realize anything was wrong.
