Subject:Driver Conflict With Echo Mia While Recording In ACID Pro 3.0

Well I've been having problems with my Echo Mia soundcard while recording in Acid Pro 3.0. The problem has been popping and clicking sounds, so I emailed the people at sonic foundry and the guy said it is probably a driver conflict caused from using a WDM 6.03 driver. The guy suggested I use VDX 6.02 driver to eliminate the popping and clicking sounds, which I thought I installed correctly, but the popping and clicking sounds in my recordings still occurred. So I looked at the properties of the driver that I just installed and it listed for files the vdx driver and a few other files, but for version it said 6.03. Does this mean that the WDM 6.03 driver is still running, thus causing the recording problems to continue or is it something else? I realize this might be a stupid question, but a honestly know very little about computers so bare with me. Thanks in advance for any help. |

Hi, I used to have the same problem with the Mia recording in 24 bit. What I did : -Upgrade the bios of my mother board (-Upgrade the driver of my grapic card) -Change the disk cache to 40 Mo (16 Mo default)and the chunck size to 512K (256K default)in Memory boost (third party software) -Change the temp folder of Acid to my D: partition wich is faster according to the system performance test of easy CD creator Now it works! Nomore glitches, crackles or pb of line up in the recording. To be honest I don't know which action actually made it work but now it does. PS : I use W2000 sp2 on an AMD 1700+ with 512Mo DDR and the WDM 6.03 drivers |

I've been using Echo Laylas for 3 years without any problems related to the soundcard or drivers. I've been using Acid since 1.0, Vegas Audio since 1.0 and Sound Forge since 4.0. Currently I'm running Acid 3, V V 3, and Sound Forge 5, w/98SE. From most reports I've heard, Echo's cards are great with SF apps. drbam |
