Subject:SF6.0, Windows NT, DirectX questions

anybody knows if 6.0 works on NT? I've been happily using 5.0 - but noticed the 6.0 Beta wants you to have DirectX 8.1 - which is not compatible with WinNT.

I'm reluctant to even try the Beta on a Win2000 machine because of the same requirement - apparently DirectX 8.1 is so deeply imbedded in the system that once installed there is no way back other than a new OS install. Everybody basically happy with DirectX 8.1, or are there some horror stories floating around?

Hello,

Sound Forge 6.0 is not compatible with Windows NT 4.0. As you said, it requires DirectX 8.0 or later to be installed on the system. There is no way to get around that requirement.

Thanks,
Brian

I don't ask how or why but I'm running SF6.0 on my WinNT sys w/sp6 and I haven't had any major problems.

I don't know if I'm the exception to that rule.
