when saving an .mp3 out of soundforge it always adds silence at the beginning and end. Is their a way to get rid of that - Im trying to make a loop and the silence is messing it all up.

Basically no. Encoding to MP3 adds silence at the beginning and the end of the file.

What is the loop for? Usually MP3 is used for end-user playing back of whole songs. I would think that most looping applications would need more precision and would require .wav files.

i use mp3s looped for flash movies for clients websites.. i didn't know it added silence.. is it just SF? as i dont use that for MP3s.. i use the LAME codec as it sounds a bit better to me and i haven't noticed the silence with that...
