MIDI problem using external modules -ACID Product Family

I have an Alesis D4 drum brain as well as a Novation Drum Station drum synth. When I create a MIDI file using stored presets in my D4 and try to play back, ACID apparently is sending program change info tothe D4 telling it dump individual drum volumes by about 90%. The Novation is not encountering this problem. Does anyone know how to keep Acid from sending anything other than channel, pitch and velocity info to an external module?
