i only have an on board sound card. can i record multiple tracks? if i can, how do i do it? |

You need a multitrack recorder like Vegas. The lite version supports up to 8 tracks, the full version I believe has unlimited tracks (I guess that system resources will be the limiting factor). This assumes that your soundcard has the appropriate connections for getting your sound into the computer (1/4" or RCA for line level sources, XLR connectors for mics...or you can use an impedance matching transformer with an XLR to 1/4" converter for the mics). I don't know much about the computer recording thing myself, but I believe this is all you need |

You have to have a card with multiple ins (more than just line-in and mic-in). Otherwise you can only record one track at a time (or two mono tracks on a stereo line in). |
