Subject:Acid (PC) to ProTools(Mac)

I want to use my Acid loops from PC and import them directly into my Pro Tools (Mac)session. Currently I burn a CD with the Acid session (the individual tracks are saved seperatly) and import them into PT that way. But I want a more direct way. Is there a way to connect the two computer via USB? How can this be done so the different formats (PC and Mac) can "speak" with each other and files can be transfered easily? Thank You.

Most any sort of networking should do fine. Our engineers have a Mac on our LAN, and they installed some patch that lets it see our network neighborhood (sorry i don't know what it was; i'm not a Mac guy. perhaps newer versions of the MacOS have this already installed; we're still running OS6). This lets the Mac read and write shared directories on the Windows PCs.

well depending on your OS versions...
you just need to setup a ethernet network..
or if they both have firewire, you can use that (altho more difficult to configure)

on the Mac you're going to need software like Dave to access the PCs shares.

also, you could have the Mac record your PCs line out. that would be great if you run all digital :)

good luck!

What OS is on the PC? If you could get away with Windows 2000 Advanced Server, you could simply set up File Services for Macintosh, a cheap ethernet hub and a couple of 10/100 ethernet cards. It is fairly easy to set up an ethernet network, but you need to do some reading. Of course, all of this is moot if you can't set up W2K Adv. Svr. on the PC.

and it's moot if you don't have the $3999 US cost for Windows 2000 Advanced Server...

jdg,
How do you record your PCs line out? If its too in depth, just let me know where I can find that information. Also, where can I find good information on setting up a network?
