I just recorded a song (with drums, bass & guitarr) and when I listen to it now I can hear a very high pitch noise in the background. Anyone have any idea where it came from and can I do anything to remove it?? (I recorded the song from a keyboard with my computer´s soundcard) |

I can't comment on where the noise may have originated but if it's a specific pitch (like a whistle) you could use the EQ tool to create a notch filter at the appropriate frequency. There are two ways I can think of to do this which might work: Paragraphic EQ and Graphic EQ. In the Paragraphic EQ there is a preset for a 60 Hz notch filter which will illustrate how to do the filter - obviously you would have to change the frequency settings. Alternatively, the 20-band Graphic EQ has sliders which would allow you to quickly identify whether that tool would resolve the problem. A second approach would be to use SF's noise reduction plug-in. If you don't have it you can download a demo to try it out. It's a very powerful tool for removing unwanted background noise of varying types, particularly steady noises. |
