Subject:How do I make a real-time analog recording from my CD-ROM drive?

I put in the CD, and it's playing through WinAmp, but it's not registering on the levels monitor on Sound Forge. What do I do? I know, I'm a complete newbie, so I hope you'll understand my incompetentcy! :) Thanks! BTW, I'm using Sound Forge 4.5.
