mine is not ripping so hot. I have brand new AMD 1800+ 133 buss harddrive, and lotss of ram. Also a new DVDrom that i am ripping from. was getting scattered pops and glitchess until i turned optimization ALL THE WAY DOWN. this setting sez it is for old CDrom drives...mine is new!! it will rip with AudioCatalyst at upwards of 26X!! so it's definately a SF problem.

how is yours doing?|

P3, 866MHz, 256MB RAM, ATA/100 drives, Creative 8x PC-DVD drive, Sound Forge 5.0f

I placed a 57:20 audio CD in the drive and had SF rip the entire CD placing regions at each track. The process took 4:48 for an average extraction speed of 11.94x. The ripping speed was set to MAX and full optimization. There are no noticeable gaps or skips in the ripped file.

Peter,

This may be due to your drive's firmware. I had a similar problem quite a while ago with a Pioneer DVD-ROM. I upgraded the firmware of the drive and all of my ripping problems went away... Even if the drive is brand new, you should still check to make sure that the software is of the latest build...

Hope this helps!!
