Contact tech support. If you bought the program from someone other than a retailer, you might have a serial number that's been used by someone else. If you did buy from a retailer, tech support will be able to set you up.

Well, if it was that easy to find spare serial numbers lying around then no one would buy the program! If you are a valid registered user, I am sure Sonic Foundry customer support will hook you up in no time at all. Contact SF with your original serial number and they will re-activate it for you, via e-mail or through a phone call. After a certain amount of installations you will need to get your serial number re-activated. This is part of SF's effort to combat piracy of its products. If the serial number you have is not properly registered to you at SF then you are probably out of luck, and SF will probably permanently de-activate it to keep it from ever being used again by anyone else. I have had to get re-activated a number of times since I upgraded my OS. It is no big deal, it only takes a few seconds when connected to the internet, but you do have to have the serial number registered in your name beforehand, which is normally done when you intially install the program on your computer. You usually have thirty days to do this according to the license agreement.
