I'm getting this message when I'm trying to play a recorded track or a rendered wav file. This is my system specs:Pentium 4 1.8 processor with 256 MB of ram(PC800 Memory),Intel (monterrey) mother board with an Intel 850 chipset, running Windows XP (home ed) into a M-Audio Delta 44 soundcard to a Mackie 1202 VLZ mixer with a Alesis Nano Compressor. Now I can play these tracks in Sound Forge XP 5.0 but not in acid 3.0 pro. the rest of the Error reads like this: Time out occurred when preparing the audio device for playback.Once in a while it will let me play the track once but only once,on the second try I get the ERROR message.I've spent a hour one the phone with Midiman less with Sonic Foundry because they said it was the soundcard not Acid 3.0. |

I've uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times re-downloaded and installed the G update 2 times. It's something between the delta, acid and XP.I guess it could be I'm running a pretty new set up,puters only 4 months old.I'm not sure how new the motherboard and chipset are but that could be part of the prob too. Going to get a hold of midiman again today see if they have any new insight since wednesday. |

I started getting the same error recently, so I completely uninstalled and then reinstalled. (I also deleted any leftover folder residue after uninstallation.) No problems. Using an M-Audio Audiophile 2496, M-Audio USB Audio Duo and Windows XP. Note: If you're installing ACID off of CD-ROM and then using the update, just install the update instead, as it's actually the full version as well. HTH, Iacobus |

Any leftover folders that uninstall (possibly) didn't clean up, like the original folder ACID was installed in (default: Program Files/Sonic Foundry/ACID 3.0) or the setup folder (Program Files/Sonic Foundry Setup/ACID 3.0). The chances are remote but you never know. Definitely consider uninstalling and reinstalling the Delta drivers for the Delta 44 per Sin's suggestion. (Be sure to use Midiman's uninstaller before installing any new drivers.) Maybe also consider updating your video card's drivers too if you haven't done so in awhile. Check out your motherboard manufacturer's Web site too to see if there are any updates to your motherboard. If this is a new motherboard, it's almost a sure bet there's already an update available of some sort, either for the board or the chipset. (If it's a vendor-made system, like those from Dell or Gateway, always consult their site first.) HTH, Iacobus |
