As a long time user of 4.5(g), I decided to give the 6.0 demo a go to see if it was worth upgrading and from my inital experience, the answer is NO!! I have the following issues with 6.0:

1) Noise Reduction no longer has a hot button on the tool bar (labeled NR in 4.5)

2) Can not Save or Open mp3 (or mp1 or mp2) files (option does not exist as a choice). [A search of the registry and folders show that the plugin is installed].

I installed the program to the following folder:
Program Files\Music\Sound Forge 6.0Program Files\Music\Shared Plug-Ins\

Questions: Is this one of those dumb programs that requires you to install it to its prechosen directory only? Do you have to purchase the full version of both of the above to get the options I mentioned? I have spent 5 hours trying to get an mp3 save/open option to show up in my list of choices without success. Unless these are easy fixes, I am sticking with 4.5.

i've been fooling round with the demo too, using the short tutorial files included with the program. OK so "save" is disabled, but I'm confused that the best quality MP3 option available is 128Kbps. Vegas Demo allows 320Kbps. Is this another "demo feature"? If so, it's not eactly good advertising!

Ok. I forgot the save thing. But I still can not open an mp3 file. The mp3 file type is not listed as a choice to open. What must I do to get it in the list? Thanks.
