I'm not sure what you mean by the Open Copy not working... I just tried it and it worked as expected. Are you using the retail version of forge (build 132)? Earlier versions had problems with this. There is no more direct mode. Just one mode, which eliminates the confusion. It's a streamlined temp mode.

The DX menu is now favorite oriented. You can create all the plugins in the menu that used to be there by choosing the Recreate by Plugin Name option. Then also create your own custom folders. I personally dock my plugin manager at the bottom of my forge screen. You can then just drag plugins to the file to access them in the chainer. One of the future updates will have the F11 option to collapse all docked windows a la Vegas and Acid.

thanks charels, are you able to open a copy from vegas into sound forge, and then apply effects and then save the changes in sound forge? Mine says file cannot be saved ANY time that it would have to overwrite an existing file

Guys,

I'll go ya one better. As soon as I removed SF5.0 and installed my 6.0 upgrade, both Acid and Vegas suddenly didn't know that Forge existed at all...I had to manually tell each program what to do.

Do I have to install Forge 6 first and then install the others or is this a bug on the 6.0a list?

Cheers,

Cuzin B

I think this is a problem with Acid and Vegas... They have built in to look for Sound Forge's particular name forge.exe. But now it's not called that anymore, so it kinda screwed up the associations. I think this will be addressed in the next update of each of those programs.

Thanks for the update. I really use this function a lot so an update would be nice...
