You insert tempo changes into your project.
Say your project tempo is 100BPM, every measure you could up the tempo by a couple BPM and your song would slowly get faster. This works in Pro3. I don't know about other versions.
"Control T" is how you get to the tempo change box.

thanks and i've just tried that and it works but the audio sounds horrible...

is it because i'm doing it after i've rendered down to 2 track or because its a one shot or both??

i suppose i should rephrase my question to: how do you speed up a 2 track mixdown...

If you have ACID Pro, check out Sound Forge XP Studio, which comes free with ACID.

There's a function under Effects>Pitch>Bend on the menu bar that might be what you're looking for.

(You'll have to render your ACID project into something such as WAV so you can work on it in Sound Forge XP first. Be sure to also make a selection on the WAV where you want the desired effect to occur as well.)

Hi, I did a test a few weeks ago using this technique and got great results.
I did the tempo increase to an unrendered project tho. Went from 130 BPM to 170 BPM in the space of 20 seconds, I did not detect any loss of quality.
I used a simple drum track and bassline to test out the increase.
